Local businesses are the backbone of a thriving community—and so is compassion.

At the Humane Society of Saginaw County, we are not a large, government-funded agency. We are a 100% volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) nonprofit working on the front lines of a crisis that affects not only animals, but people, neighborhoods, and the overall quality of life in our community. We receive no government funding and rely entirely on the generosity of individuals and businesses to continue our work. 

Every day, we fill a critical gap that no one else in Saginaw County is addressing.

There are over 18,000 households in our county living below the poverty line with pets—and no access to affordable spay and neuter services. Without intervention, this leads to thousands of unwanted animals born into suffering, abandonment, and neglect. 

Through low- and no-cost spay/neuter programs, Trap-Neuter-Return for community cats, rescue of severely neglected animals, and emergency pet food support, we are actively reducing overpopulation, preventing cruelty, and keeping families and their pets together. 

This is not just animal welfare—it is community welfare.

When local businesses partner with us, they are not simply making a donation. They are:

The average cost to save a single animal far exceeds adoption fees, meaning every rescued life is only possible through sponsorship support.
